On our forum we have uploaded the last beta for the new major release of WatchFTP.

New in version 4

• Private key support for SFTP connections.
• Task Groups - This will come in handy if you run a lot of tasks.
• Dynamic Naming for downloaded files - for example download your files to C:\Downloads\{filetitle}_{dt:year}{dt:month}{dt:day}.{extension}
• Support for the latest encryption algorythms on secure connections.
• Multithreaded downloads - download several files at once.

WatchDirectory v4.9.4 beta 1 - TLS 1.2 support

On our forum we have a first beta for WatchDirectory v4.9.4 available.

The FTP Upload task now supports the TLS 1.2 protocol for secure connections. Download the beta from the forum link above.

WatchDirectory v4.9.2 beta - Print PDF Files

You can now download a new beta version of WatchDirectory.

New in this beta version

This new beta includes a native plugin to print PDF files. Previously WD printed PDF files by calling Acrobat Reader of Foxit Reader to do the actual printing. This new plugin should be more reliable and work faster.

This release also checks to see if the history database is corrupt. The typical reason why it becomes corrupt is a power failure or a forced Windows shutdown. When a task is starting and it finds a corrupt database it will auto-repair it.

WatchFTP v3.7.5 beta

We have a new beta version available for our FTP Monitor Program WatchFTP.

Fixed in this beta

There is one issue fixed in this beta. If you use the option Remove the Empty FTP directory on an FTP or FTPS site (SFTP sites are not affected), WatchFTP was not able to remove directories.

WatchDirectory v4.9.1 beta 1

We have a first beta for WatchDirectory v4.9.1 available on our forum.

This new beta now also allows you to use the $CALL$ macro to get the recipients of an email, see the example on the forum.

Did you know we now also have a Spanish language website? WatchDirectory's helpfiles have also been translated to Spanish.

Call a script to set the subject of an email

The $CALL$ Macro

We just uploaded a new beta for WatchDirectory that has a very nice new feature: The $CALL$ macro which allows you to set (part of) the subject and/or body text of your emails.

This new feature allows you to call a batch script and use its "output" inside your emails.

Example: add the word "Error" to the subject when detected files contain the word "Error"

You could use the following text for the email subject:

$CALL:C:\Scripts\GetSubjectPrefix.bat$ detected file %WD_FILE_N%

The task will call the above script and will set all Environment Variables related to the detected file. Below is the GetSubjectPrefix.bat script:

WatchFTP v3.6 beta

On our forum we have a new beta for our FTP site monitoring program.

New in this beta

• v3.6 has support for some new features of WXRemote, the new v1.9 version of WXRemote will be released next week and will show the last messages from WatchFTP (and WatchDirectory) tasks.
• When you have the option "Do not download detected files" checked, most environment variables were empty. This new release will set most variables to proper values.

Automatically Upload your files to Amazon S3

We just uploaded WatchDirectory v4.7 beta 6, see this forum post.

Let WatchDirectory monitor a folder for new or changed files and Automatically upload them to Amazon S3 (Amazon Simple Storage Service). Just enter your AWS Access Key and Secret Key, select the bucket you want WatchDirectory to upload the files to, enter the folder inside the bucket and you are done. Synch to the Cloud!.

WatchFTP v3.5 Beta 2

A new beta for WatchFTP is available.

New in this beta

We have totally reworked the way WatchFTP detects new and changed files on your FTP site. Previously (version 3.4 and earlier) WatchFTP compared FTP files with previously downloaded files. This new v3.5 beta keeps a list of previous FTP "scans" and compares your site to this list. This gives more accurate results and also allows you to modify or remove the downloaded Windows files. It also allows you to not download the files at all (just send an email about detected changes).

WatchFTP v3.4 beta

We have a beta available for version 3.4 of our automatic download tool WatchFTP.

New in this beta

• The "filter directories" window now supports wildcards (* and ?)
• The "filter directories" window now also has an option to tell which directories to download. Previous versions only allowed you to tell which directories should NOT be downloaded.
• You can now Copy a task (Right-click the task, select Copy).
• The File menu has a new option to Create Backup of the selected task(s).
• The File menu has a new option to Restore task(s) from a backup.

WatchDirectory v4.7 Beta

We have just released a first beta for WatchDirectory v4.7.

New in this Beta

• New: New implementation of System.Mail, now allowing secure connections using SSL/TLS. During the beta this new implementation is optional.
• New: The FTP component will resume the upload several times when an error occurs during the upload.
• New: When you use the {code{dllname,parameters}} dynamic name function, you can also call a batch script.

WatchFTP v3.1.1 Beta

We just uploaded a new beta for WatchFTP v3.1.1

New in this release:

• When monitoring an SFTP site the speed has been improved. Previously, for each detected file, 2 redundant calls were made to the server. Those have been removed.
• The WatchFTP Control Center now shows what each task is doing (task status) next to the download counts. This status can be "Sleeping", "Scanning", "Downloading" or "Stopped".

Just uploaded a new (and probably last) beta for WatchFTP v3.1. We expect this beta to be released early September.

• Fixed: In some cases WatchFTP did not remove the empty FTP folder (when the task was configured to remove the empty folder).

WatchFTP v3.1 Beta

New and changed in this beta:

• New: 64Bit versions of WatchFTP are now available
• New: You can configure an email address to receive administrative alerts
• New: If WatchFTP can not access a directory on your FTP server, the directory will be blacklisted (skipped) and WatchFTP will continue.
• Fixed: In some cases WatchFTP tried to create illegal filenames

WatchDirectory v4.6.7 Beta 3

On our forum we have a new beta for WatchDirectory v4.6.7. Changes in this beta:

• Improved: Implemented "Clear Command Channel" for FTPS protocols
• Fixed: The Upload Files task will now retry to connect when it receives a 40425 error
• Fixed: The Environment variable WD_FILE_E was not properly set for files without extensions
• Fixed: WatchDirectory crashed (or just didn't work) on Vista and Windows-7 when not running as an Administrator
• Improved: The WatchDirectory Control Center is more efficient (cpu and resources)
• New: Filter Events can now also filter with bat scripts for complex filter situations.
• New: A new plugin to Remove the Oldest Files from a Directory: Use it to delete old log files while keeping the 10 newest.
• New: The Zip File task can now be used as a Subtask.
• Fixed: The task that Upload Files to an FTP Server would send false email warnings when renaming files.
