Ok, we need to write something to be in accordance with European laws.
Here is the short version: "You're OK, we don't use your data in any way we would want our data to be used".

If you are "just a visitor" on our websites

We use a third party company, used by many other companies, statcounter.com who uses cookies on our sites. The info we get from them is which pages you visit and if you encounter any broken links.
We use this information to see if our websites are working properly, we don't know who you are.

If you contact us

If you use our Contact Us form on our company website, we will obviously use your name/email to respond. After that we will not store or use your name/email anymore. We don't spam.

If you are a customer

Here it gets interesting.
We sell our programs (mainly) through our American reseller BMT-Micro. Some sales are through other resellers, some directly with us. In all cases we receive the information of the buyer ("you") that was entered on their website. We do not receive any credit card information!

The information we receive include your name, email and address (street, city, country). We only use your name and email to send you your license information.

When we have an important (major) update to the program you bought we send you an email. This email always has an option to unsubscribe, not receive those emails anymore. You can expect an email once or twice each year.

Third Parties

We do not sell or give your information to anyone. Obviously.

Ownership of this information

If you want to be "forgotten", email us saying so at our Contact Us form. We will remove your license information (name, email, address etc) from our customer database. Note that will also mean you won't be able to lookup your license information anymore at this page. Your license will continue to work but if you want to move it to another computer we can not help you anymore.

WxRemote version 1.9.2 released (free update)

We just released a new version of our program WxRemote, our program to remotely control your WatchDirectory and WatchFTP tasks. We highly recommend you install this free update.

Fixed in this release

There was a memory leak in the WxConnectionManager and WxListener components. This leak would only show if you had logging disabled. Furthermore, "Check for Updates" did not work properly.

We just released version 1.9.1 of WxRemote. This release fixes a problem that caused the WxListener component to crash.

WxRemote v1.9

This new version of WxRemote can show the last messages of your WatchDirectory and WatchFTP tasks. The Windows program (Wx Remote Control Center) by default shows you the very last message, click that message to see the last few 100 messages of a task. The web interface has similar functionality.

To support this new functionality you need to run version 4.8 of WatchDirectory and version 3.6 of WatchFTP (see below). After you install the new version of WxRemote, make sure to configure the new "Last Message" functionality on the computers where you run WxListener.

This is a free update for all WxRemote customers. Just install this new version "on top" of your existing install.

This new WatchDirectory version supports the new "Last Message" functionality of WxRemote (see above).

WatchFTP v3.6

This new WatchFTP version supports the new "Last Message" functionality of WxRemote (see above). Further changes in this release:

• New: SOCKS4 and SOCKS5 proxy support when connecting to an SFTP server.
• Fixed: When you do not download detected files, WatchFTP will now properly set environment variables for your email and bat script actions.
• Fixed: Previous versions did not support downloading to the root of an UNC path (\\server\share).

This is a free update for all WatchFTP customers. Just install this new version "on top" of your existing install.

WatchDirectory v4.8 beta 1

On our forum we have a new beta for our Directory Monitoring program WatchDirectory.

New in this beta

• v4.8 has support for some new features of WXRemote, the new v1.9 version of WXRemote will be released next week and will show the last messages from WatchDirectory (and WatchFTP) tasks.

WatchFTP v3.6 beta

On our forum we have a new beta for our FTP site monitoring program.

New in this beta

• v3.6 has support for some new features of WXRemote, the new v1.9 version of WXRemote will be released next week and will show the last messages from WatchFTP (and WatchDirectory) tasks.
• When you have the option "Do not download detected files" checked, most environment variables were empty. This new release will set most variables to proper values.

End of Support for our Programs

As you probably understand, we can not offer support for extremely old versions of our programs, especially not on Windows versions for which Microsoft has ended support. In this blog I will explain the general rules and those for specific programs.

General Rules

• We support the current release of all our programs - you can download the current release from their website.
• We do not support releases older than 1 year in those cases where you can upgrade free to the current release.
• When we release a paid upgrade for a program and you do not upgrade, we will continue to support the old version for at most one year.

When we need to "fix" something or implement a new feature, it will always be a fix on the most current release. We do not release patches on old releases.

WatchDirectory Support

WatchDirectory version 1.x, 2.x and 3.x are not supported anymore.

WatchDirectory v4.x is the current release and all subversions (4.1, 4.2 ... 4.6.7B) are free upgrades for customers. Just install the current release "on top" of your version so it will keep all your tasks and settings. No need to uninstall the old version first.
Before you report an issue, please see if the most recent release has fixed it.

WatchFTP Support

WatchFTP v1.x and v2.x are not supported anymore.

WatchFTP v3 is a free upgrade for all current WatchFTP customers so please install the latest version from our website. Note that you need a new (free) license key for version 3. You can lookup your license key here.

File Viking Support

File Viking v1.1 is supported and all v1.x releases are free upgrades.

WxRemote Support

WxRemote v1.8 is supported and all v1.x releases are free upgrades.

Below a picture of the (German) customer preview with WatchDirectory installed. Yes, the WatchDirectory icons look a bit out-of-place. But it is great to see Microsoft did a fine job (again) to keep their OS compatible with our programs. Or is it the other way around?

WxRemote v1.7 Released

We have just released a new version of WxRemote, the set of programs for remote control of your WatchDirectory and WatchFTP tasks. This is a free update for customers of previous versions.

New/Changed in this release

• New: The configuration program (WxConfig) now has a "Scan Network" button for easy lookup to see where the Listener and ConnectionManager are running.
• Improved: The WxWeb component used for the Web-interface is a LOT faster when you have many tasks.
• Changed: If a server had a lot of WatchDirectory and/or WatchFTP tasks (more than ~60), communication could fail
